Talking in Terms They Understand
When you’re talking to someone, especially when they are from a different social group or culture, it is important to try to talk in terms they understand.
Misunderstandings frequently happen because different social groups have different connotations or meanings to the same words. So many times people who agree with each other actually begin arguing.
People usually have more in common than they realize, and sometimes communication issues get in the way of people realizing that.
