I Try
You know, I try hard to correct myself when I am wrong. I don’t like being wrong. I don’t like being called wrong. I want to be right, and am willing to change myself to be right.
For example, I wrote this big long article yesterday morning, and this morning I realized that I was unfairly lumping certain groups together, so I rewrote the entire second half of the article to be more accurate and to clarify a few things.
Or if someone says I am incorrect, I go and do further research to either validate my point or find out why I am incorrect.
I’m not perfect, but I try.
I try.
Sometimes I can be stubborn about my point of view if I think the facts are on my side. Sometimes that occurs to people as arrogance. But present me some evidence to the contrary, and I will gladly reconsider my point of view. Don’t just say I’m wrong and refuse to give evidence supporting your claim.
I want to learn. I want to grow. I want to better understand.
Judge me as you will, but I try.
