The Hate Needs to Stop from Both Sides
I want to publicly state that regardless of your political affiliation or preferred candidate, treating other people horribly is not right, and it’s not good for this country, and it’s counterproductive.
Whether it’s the hateful ones who discriminate against people based on the color of their skin, their culture, national origin, religion or sexual identity, or the people who call their opponents names instead of having a respectful debate, it’s not right to harm other people, regardless of what you may personally think about it.
So the violence, and the name calling and the mud slinging and hatred needs to stop. People are not evil or bad just because they disagree with you or are different than you. (And this applies to people on both the left and the right, by the way.)
This country is not perfect, and we are not perfect, but, despite some missteps, we have always strived to make it better a place for all, including our immigrants and oddballs. And we need to keep it that way.
You may be frustrated, and you may think certain groups have wronged you somehow, or are harming our country, but that does not give you an excuse to treat them badly. Enough with the violence. Enough with the hate. Enough with the name calling. Enough. It has to stop. We are better than that, and if we aren’t, we can become better than that.
Love one another, and respect one another, and don’t harm people, and don’t allow others to harm people.
Helping people embrace life's opportunities.™
